So I purchased the sample pack A which includes: Cracked Pepper, Salt&Pepper Honey, Korean BBQ, and Carne Asada ( I also purchased Smokey BBQ on the side to also try it out ).
Overall tasty jerky. The flavor definitely grows on you the more you eat it.
The first one I tried was the Smokey BBQ which is a flavor outside of Sample Pack A. It is a nice savory flavor, can taste some of the tomato element which plays a part in creating that BBQ flavor, overall just has a great depth of flavor and most bites were pretty tender too.. 9/10 for me on this one.
Next up is Carne Asada, this is the second flavor I tried and the first one from Sample Pack A.. hmm.. so this one I didn't care too much for, but at no fault of its own. I guess I just don't care too much for the flavor itself, now this is probably more dependent on who likes that type of flavor. Heck, it might even start growing on me.. pieces are tender and visibly seasoned well.. 6.9/10 ( personally )
Cracked Pepper: Oh yeah, this is my jam. Haha this one is so good 👍. Has a nice savory taste due to other ingredients in the mix other than just Cracked Pepper such as: Tamari, Brown Sugar, Garlic, and hickory smoke. Just took a bite of it right now.. oh yeah haha this might be my favorite. The Cracked Pepper plus a bit of saltiness hits right off the bat, then the savoriness of those other flavors I mentioned follows suit. Pieces are tender. 10/10 for me. Great stuff.
Salt n Pepper Honey: Alright so this is most comparable to the Cracked Pepper one I just wrote about. Less pronounced is the black pepper and salt element, kinda more in the background.. but still there. It's nudges more into the sweetness of the honey. Has a decent amount of savoriness as well. The S&P hits the taste buds first ( again not as pronounced as these other ingredients ), fades into the background a bit, then the honey sweetness takes over along with some savoriness of the other included ingredients. If you like sweeter jerky then you might want to give this one a go as it also includes Teriyaki Sauce flavor and Pineapple Juice which adds more sweetness. You would think because of that it would be too overboard with the sweetness, but not too much. Pieces were kinda tender. More of a personal preference, but for me.. 7.1/10. Not bad.
Korean BBQ: Alright so this one is probably tied with Smokey BBQ, maybe edges it out just a bit personally. Flavor is great. It's balanced and so savory. On this bag all of the pieces were SUPER tender, wow. This really gave it the edge over other flavors I've tried. You can also see how tenderized the pieces are by looking at them. If you are looking for a good Asian style flavor for beef jerky, well here ya go. Again, balanced. You would think it would be pretty sweet because how a lot of Asian inspired jerkies are, but they did a great job with doing it right. TENDER pieces.. 9.5/10. Get some.
Alright guys so that does it for this review of all of those jerkies. Something I realized also with this jerky is it's more of a, "take a bite and savor the moment" rather than, "take a bite, chew real quick and swallow" type of deal. Savor the moment guys, I believe that's how this particular jerky was made to be eaten. You'll appreciate it more this way due to how savory they are. Another thing to point out and to know before buying.. On all of these that I tried sometimes while chewing on a piece you sometimes keep chewing lol. Not on the whole piece itself, rather a small crumb sized piece now and then. So if you take a decent sized bite of one, 97% of it is tender meat and will break down no problem. That other 3% ( again these are really small pieces ) you will keep chewing and chewing and chewing and chewi.. you will eventually just pull it out of your mouth and put it down somewhere haha. You get the picture. It doesn't really bother me and I'm overall happy with my purchase and recommend trying out these flavors I tried if you think what I wrote appeals to you. Smokehouse jerky is a delicious snack that is high in protein. I have tried several flavors and I like them all so far. I highly recommend.
This is the best flavor overall. Love the texture as well.
The variety of flavors was really nice and for the price point I could tell it was really good quality. Would highly reccomend. It was delicious
