According to the owners of Fort NYC, they identified everything that was wrong with the typical workout options people have and designed ways to fix it.
Typically, you could slog it out in the gym by yourself and hope that your form and exercise choices and program were good enough to get you where you wanted to go (and hopefully get you there in one piece!)
You could hire a personal trainer and hope that her expertise and accountability would yield results before it became too costly to continue shelling out hundreds of dollars per week.
You could attend large, group fitness classes that were filled with enthusiasm but had no real structure, individual attention, or progression. It was fun while it was happening, but you never felt like you were getting anywhere. And exercising in other people’s sweat tends to run its course really quickly.
But just walking into a gym or signing up for a group fitness class or buying a pack of personal training sessions isn’t enough. In fact, the chance of those things actually working is pretty low.
You need a specific program that meets you at your current capabilities and progresses from week to week and month to month. Not generic workouts that just repeat themselves over and over again.

VITAL has made its rooftop weatherized and turfed. The rooftop climbing is open year-round, but they do scale things back a bit in the winter. The rooftop climbing has heaters and the walls are shaded from sun and rain, so you can climb in inclement weather. relax in a rooftop sauna and even freshen up with an outdoor shower.
TreadWall: Think treadmill, but vertical. The TreadWall is a vertical conveyor belt with climbing holds on it. It allows you to climb for as long as you can before fatiguing. This is a great way to train for longer climbs outdoors.
Weight Training: The weight area has a full range of Rogue equipment, including 4 squat/bench stations, dumbbells, kettlebells, medicine balls, pull-up stations, a sled, and more.
Cardio: VITAL has plenty of cardio machines to help get your heart rate up. Choose from rowing machines, ellipticals, treadmills, stationary bikes, a Jacobs ladder, and a stair climber.
Slacklines: Similar to a tightrope, a slackline is a flat length of webbing that is tensioned between two anchors. Improve your balance and coordination by walking, jumping, and doing tricks! VITAL currently has one permanent 2" line.
With a stunning view, the VIAL rooftop is the perfect spot for the sauna. It is particularly nice after an outdoor climb on a cold day.
